Training standards and accreditation pathway
What do your courses need to demonstrate?
Required Training Standards
Your Courses must meet the following published IAOTH standards to qualify for accreditation. Accreditation is not offered to university level degrees. We accredit your training standards and not your course content.

Be delivered online or in person. This can be in a classroom, through video materials, online live training etc
Be no less than 2 hours long. You may include home study time in your course length time.
The teaching materials must be your own creation, we will not accredit materials that have been bought from a third party as we have no way of accrediting the training standards.
Provide supporting learning materials in the form of a course manual, video support etc, you need to ensure that the student has some way of referring back to course materials once training has ended.
Provide access to a tutor throughout either via email, online support, or in person
Provide a method of testing that the knowledge has been learnt. This can be done via online assessment, supervised observation, quizzes, multiple choice questionnaires, homework etc. As a trainer you need to be sure that your students understand and can implement the training.
Provide a certificate of completion from your business showing your business name and where relevant, which also shows the CPD/CEU points delivered either electronically or provided personally. The IAOTH does not provide you with your students certificates, you are the trainer therefore the certificate has your name on it and you may use the IAOTH Accredited Training Provider logo on it and refer to your course as being accredited by us.
Providers remain responsible for checking that their courses comply with the governmental, legal, registration, licensing, advertising, and insurance requirements that apply in their jurisdiction.

Your accreditation pathway
Four steps to becoming an IAOTH Accredited Training Provider.
Register
Choose the Training Provider category when signing up and create your provider profile. You will find a comprehensive guide to profile completion once you log in.
Describe your business and training.
Complete as much profile information as possible and identify the subject areas covered by your training. Courses that you wish to refer to as being accredited by us should be listed in your Accredited Courses section of your profile with an outline curriculum. We do not need to see your full course manuals at this stage but reserve the right to request them if needed.
Apply For Your Certificate
Submit the relevant information and confirm that your courses meet the published standards. Eligible providers may accredit an unlimited number of courses, provided each course meets the requirements. Your status is for your business name only and may not be shared with other providers.
Receive confirmation and publish
Once the information has been reviewed and payment has been received, IAOTH confirms the provider status and issues the Accredited Training Provider Certificate. We will support you with this process and will provide personal online guidance if needed. Your status confirmation takes four working days from certificate submission; you need to receive your certificate confirming your status before advertising that you are IAOTH Accredited Training Providers. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee for all payments UNLESS a certificate has already been issued confirming your status.
Offer CPD Points for Your Training.
Enhance your course benefits by awarding CPD points.
Give Your Training Courses Even More Value with IAOTH CPD Points
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the ongoing education and training professionals undertake to maintain and develop their knowledge, skills and professional practice.
As an IAOTH Accredited Training Provider, you can offer eligible courses as IAOTH CPD Qualifying Courses, giving your students an additional professional development benefit while providing your training business with a valuable new selling point.
IAOTH awards 1 CPD Point for every 2 hours of learning, including course training and relevant home study.
You can promote the CPD Points awarded alongside your course and include them on your students’ certificates, providing an added incentive for professionals looking to build their continuing professional development.
Why Offer CPD Points?
✓ Add greater value to your courses
✓ Give students an additional professional benefit
✓ Make your courses more attractive to working professionals
✓ Demonstrate your commitment to ongoing professional development

Join IAOTH as an Accredited Training Provider and give your courses the added value of IAOTH Accreditation and CPD recognition.
Where a course meets the requirements, providers can calculate a CPD value and include it on their own course completion certificate. This equates to one point per two hours of training and/or home study. Providers remain responsible for accurately recording the course, business name, and CPD/CEU value.

Frequently Asked Questions For Training Providers
What is an IAOTH Accredited Training Provider?
It is a provider membership and accreditation route for eligible schools, educators, academies, online course providers, and training businesses. It is intended to help providers present their training within a professional framework and demonstrate alignment with the published IAOTH standards.
Can I accredit more than one course?
Providers may accredit an unlimited number of courses under 1 business name, provided each course meets the applicable IAOTH training standards and supports humanity in some way. You may accredit different modalities under 1 business name.
Is the $199 annual fee required to be paid at the initial sign up stage?
Yes, the fee is payable on sign-up and we will support you to complete your profile, and with your certificate application. It is in both our interests that your application is successful. If for any reason your application is not successful we have a 30 day money back guarantee.
Is there any review, approval, virtual meeting, agreement, or other procedure that needs to be completed before making the payment?
No, but you might like to contact us at support@iaoth.org if you want to check your suitability before signing up
Are there any formal agreements, terms, or conditions that we should review and accept before proceeding with the accreditation process?
Not specifically, but you might like to read our https://iaoth.org/terms-conditions/ and when you apply for your certificate you will be asked to confirm that you agree with the standards required to be an IAOTH Accredited Training Provider. By signing up you acknowledge that you are paying an annual fee and there will be no right to a refund during your year contract, unless we don’t accept your application OR you violate the ethical standards of our organization. Please note unsuccessful applicants are always given a refund.
Once the payment and approval are completed, will we receive the official IAOTH Accredited Training Provider Certificate? If so, can we then proceed with submitting our Diploma programmes for course accreditation through the relevant process?
Once the payment and approval are completed you will receive your certificate with your unique IAOTH Training Provider number, you will then be able to download and use the training provider logos on your advertising, website etc. You can then refer to your courses as being IAOTH Accredited. All courses that you wish to refer to as being accredited by us must be listed in your profile under the Accredited Courses tab. Your account is reviewed annually and we go through course listings and reserve the right to see a full course manual if requested. Once you have completed your initial sign-up and received your approval you do not need to submit additional course documentation to us.
Do you require the qualification details of our course tutors?
No, you are creating training courses and as an industry standard we would expect that your tutors are either qualified or experienced in their given field. Not all complementary therapy subjects have formal qualifications.
Do you recognize or approve courses that are delivered by universities or higher education institutions?
Yes, we have many higher education institutions who have their courses accredited by us, we will not accredit courses that use the word degree in them as these are protected for bona fide universities only.
Can I award CPD/CEU points?
Eligible providers can calculate and show CPD/CEU points for approved courses in accordance with the published guidance. One point per two hours of training and/or home study.
Does IAOTH accreditation replace local legal requirements?
No. Providers remain responsible for checking and meeting the professional, legal, registration, licensing, advertising, safeguarding, and insurance requirements that apply in their own country or countries of practice.
How long does provider recognition take?
Accredited Training Provider Certificate is issued within four working days of certificate application once the information has been reviewed and confirmed.
Can I use the accreditation status for my other businesses?
No, each business needs its own accreditation status, your certificate is issued in your business name and cannot be shared with other people/business.
Can I sign up as a training provider as an individual issuing training and certificates in my personal name?
Yes, absolutely, about 25% of our training providers teach under their personal name.
What if I need help with payment or registration?
Contact support@iaoth.org if you experience payment problems or wish to discuss a monthly invoice arrangement. This contact route should be checked before launch.
